Event Offers Over $10,000 in Prizes for Amateur Golfers of All Ages; Registration Open Now
St. Augustine, Fla. (August 1, 2007) – The World Golf Hall of Fame’s fourth-annual Putting Championship will begin Saturday, August 25 and continue through the first two weekends in September. The tournament will take place at the World Golf Hall of Fame Putting Course at World Golf Village and will offer amateur golfers the opportunity to test their putting skills against other amateurs in Northeast Florida.
The Putting Championship will allow participants the chance to win more than $10,000 in prizes. Prizes include: golf for one year at World Golf Village courses and other Northeast Florida courses; one- week passes for the 2008 PLAYERS Championship; lessons for two at The TOUR Academy TPC Sawgrass; Wilson golf clubs; stay and play packages at the Renaissance Resort and Laterra Resort & Spa at the World Golf Village; PGA TOUR STOP gift certificates and golf at TPC Sawgrass Dye’s Valley course.
The top 16 finalists will receive a Cutter and Buck golf shirt, a golf bag, three dozen golf balls courtesy of Wilson Golf, and a "Friends of the World Golf Hall of Fame" membership.
Entry fee for the putting tournament is $35. All participants will receive one practice round on the putting course, a tournament package, lunch at Fairways Café at the World Golf Hall of Fame the day of their qualifying round and complimentary admission to the World Golf Hall of Fame.
The World Golf Hall of Fame Putting Course is an 18-hole natural FloraDwarf bermudagrass course designed to USGA and GCSAA specifications.

Saturday, August 25th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Qualifying rounds begin Sunday, August 26th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m..: Qualifying rounds continue Saturday, September 1st from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Qualifying rounds continue Sunday, September 2nd from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Qualifying rounds continue Saturday, September 8th, 10 a.m.: Championship Round
