St. Augustine, Fla. (August 3, 2007) – Items from the legendary entertainer and avid golfer Bob Hope have been added to his locker in the World Golf Hall of Fame’s Member Locker Room exhibit. The donated items from Bob Hope’s estate represent an assortment of personal memorabilia including awards, clubs, articles of clothing and images. Additionally, items from Sam Snead and Beth Daniel also have been added.

"Bob Hope’s impact on golf’s growth in popularity is comfortably set amongst the game’s greatest contributions," said Jack Peter, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Hall of Fame.

"Guests through the Hall of Fame are sure to enjoy peeking into his locker, as well as the other Hall of Fame members’ lockers, to find personal treasures and enlightening relics that give insight into these individuals."

Some of the items featured in Bob Hope’s locker include a pair of plaid golf shoes, a black-and-white checkered hounds-tooth cap and white plus-fours, all of which Hope is wearing in a photo taken in 1990s, which is also on display. His locker additions include his "100 Heroes of the First Century of Golf in America" award, presented by Golf Magazine in 1988; a certificate of membership for the Chicago District Golf Association’s Hole-In-One Club; three golf clubs, including a George Izett 7-iron from his collection and a Bob Hope Desert Classic-inscribed putter manufactured by Matzie; a golf glove and ball from his Palm Springs golf bag; and more.

Added to the more than 1,800 artifacts currently in the Member Locker Room exhibit is the Wilson Pay-Off putter Sam Snead used throughout most of the 1950s, three Sam Snead Blue Ridge Model woods, one of the last straw hats Snead wore before he passed away and an autographed pair of golf shoes, all donated by Snead’s son, Jack. Beth Daniel has provided the Hall of Fame her 1990 Solheim Cup bag, autographed by both U.S. and European teams, and a set of irons she used her rookie season through 1989.
