The PGA Tour’s Most Trusted Brand of Apparel offers Head-to-Toe Solutions Designed to Reduce the Sun’s Impact and Keep Athletes Cool; adidas Golf’s New T-Sight Eyewear with LST GolfÌ¢?å¢ Lens Filter Offers UV Protection and Natural Vision Perception

CARLSBAD, Calif. (August 6, 2007) – As we enter August, high temperatures and high rates of humidity are pushing heat indexes toward triple digits – making it critical that athletes take precautions to avoid overexposure to the sun. adidas Golf, a brand of the TaylorMade-adidas Golf Company, continues to address the needs of golfers by offering head-to-toe apparel solutions designed to reduce the impact of the sun and high temperatures.

"In a sport where golfers switch drivers to gain a couple of yards in distance, players need to have the same approach with clothing and those who don’t use adidas’ ClimaCool technology are giving away an advantage to those wear it because of its performance benefits," said Bob Maggiore, adidas Golf senior director of brand marketing. "Golfers wearing ClimaCool have a distinct advantage over their competitors than those who don’t."

adidas’ industry-first ClimaCool technology is an advanced moisture-management system that incorporates the best moisture-management fabric in the industry, CoolMax® Extreme. Additionally, ClimaCool incorporates strategically positioned vents in critical heat zones for improved air-flow, resulting in a more breathable garment that reduces skin temperature and keeps the wearer cool and comfortable. Golfers can learn more about ClimaCool and how it works at adidas Golf’s new ClimaCool Web site.

adidas Golf introduced a host of new warm weather solutions, including ClimaCool and ClimaLite® tops and bottoms that make up the Core Performance, Athletic Performance and Tour Performance collection.

Among the top sellers are the Men’s ClimaCool short/pant which feature classic lines and a more traditional fit while offering UV protection against the toughest conditions. Both the ClimaCool pant and short feature two back welt pockets and are anti-microbial, and the short is constructed with a 9" inseam.

adidas Golf has also created a line of ClimaCool and ClimaLite polos that combine superior comfort, look and feel and are which are designed to withstand the hottest conditions. Worn by adidas Golf Tour Staff professionals like Sergio Garcia, Sean O’Hair, Kenny Perry and Jason Day, adidas Golf ClimaCool polos offer UV protection and are anti-microbial in addition to keeping the athlete cool and comfortable.

The ClimaCool Women’s Convertible Dress is one of the most innovative golf-specific garments on the market, as it offers three pieces in one – dress, polo and skirt – and is designed to be worn as a dress or converted to two pieces so the polo and skirt can be worn separately.

In addition to skin protection, doctors preach the importance of protecting the eyes from the damaging effects of the sun. adidas has introduced T-Sight, the latest in golf-specific eyewear that addresses golfers’ needs by incorporating a variety of patented innovations including the LST Golfâ?¢ (Light Stabilizing Technology) lens filter, which promotes natural vision perception in varying degrees of light and weather, reducing the eye’s need to adjust to differing light. The key benefit for the athlete is less eye fatigue, making it easier to remain relaxed and focused from the first tee to the 18th green. The proprietary red-brown tint of the LST Golf lens also enhances contrasts, enabling the golfer to better judge distances and read greens.

Plus, T-Sight’s ClimaCool-inspired ventilation system promotes air circulation behind the lens, helping to reduce perspiration and keep the athlete cool.
