GreenToTee Golf Academy Adds Tour-Tested Trackman System To Its Unparalleled Technology Lineup

GLENCOE, Illinois (August 8, 2007) – Already a leader in golf instruction technology, the GreenToTee Golf Academy has added the revolutionary TrackManâ?¢ system to the list of high-tech tools its coaches use to help students of all levels improve their games.

"Up to this point TrackManâ?¢ has been used almost exclusively at the research and development level by golf’s major equipment manufacturer to test new product designs and to custom fit their tour professionals with optimal equipment for their swings," said Joe Bosco, co-founder of GreenToTee Golf Academy.

"The GreenToTee Golf Academy acquired TrackManâ?¢ because we know the information and feedback it provides will dramatically help our students become better players faster," Bosco said.

"Tour pros are on the driving range at major events every week using TrackManâ?¢ because they know it can help them get better," Bosco said. "We think our students deserve the same advantages."

Based on Doppler radar technology, TrackManâ?¢ measures the exact three-dimensional club movement and ball flight, and provides precise data on ball launch, ball flight and ball landing, according to the Denmark-based ISG A/S company, which developed the product. TrackManâ?¢ measures the full trajectory of any shot, ranging from short pitches to 400-yard drives and measures the landing position with an accuracy of 1 foot at 100 yards, according to the company.

Among the measurements TrackManâ?¢ can provide are:

â?¢ Club head speed

â?¢ Club head angle of attack

â?¢ Club head path

â?¢ Ball launch speed

â?¢ Ball launch direction (vertical and horizontal)

â?¢ Ball launch spin

â?¢ Carry distance and dispersion

â?¢ Full trajectory information

Most significantly, according to Bosco, is that touring pros are using TrackManâ?¢ to help them better understand the nature of their golf swings and the effectiveness of their equipment. "Knowledge is power and PGA Tour pros are using the knowledge they gain from TrackManâ?¢ to help them improve their games," he noted.

Bosco said his favorite aspect of Trackmanâ?¢ is the Know Your Distance feature, which enables every golfer – average players and pros alike – to learn how far he hits each of his clubs. "It helps you understand the carry distance for each club in your bag so that you’re more confident in your club selection," Bosco said. "It helps you manage your game better and score lower."

In addition, the Shot Analysis aspect of TrackManâ?¢ enables a coach and a player to measure the effectiveness and consistency of any newly applied instructional concept, Bosco said.

In recent years golf’s major governing bodies have been using TrackManâ?¢ to measure and evaluate how improvements in ball and club technology are affecting the game. The U.S. Golf Association and the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews – golf’s two primary governing bodies – used TrackManâ?¢ at the U.S. and British Opens, respectively, to measure and analyze ball flight and club movement.

The TrackManâ?¢ system is so accurate it has been integrated into the PGA Tour’s ShotLink system, which collects and disseminates scoring and statistical data on every shot by every player in real-time during PGA Tour events

GreenToTee Golf Academy is one of only a handful of golf instruction centers around the country that utilizes the TrackManâ?¢ to coach its students.

In addition to TrackManâ?¢, GreenToTee has the most extensive array of technology-based instructional tools as anyone in the industry. In addition to TrackManâ?¢, GreenToTee utilizes the S.A.M. PuttLab, the Bentley Kinetics K-Vest system, the V1 Golf video system, the PowerPlate, the Explanar Swing Plane, The Groove, HeartMath, and others.

Founded in 1989 by Bosco and Peter Donahue, the GreenToTee Golf Academy specializes in developing customized golf skills training programs for individuals who want to improve their games. Not satisfied with providing players with the popular "temporary quick fix" or "one-size-fits-all" golf lessons, GreenToTee instructors work one-on-one with each student to develop a "planned personal program" aimed at producing lasting improvements and measurable results. In addition to helping players identify effective swing models, GreenToTee instructors teach students to manage their games on the course, using on-course playing lessons as an essential element of the teaching process.
