Limited-Circulation Newsletter Reviews New Courses in Scotland, Colorado and Alabama

SHORT HILLS, N.J. (August 14, 2007) — Golf Odyssey: The Insider’s Guide to Sophisticated Golf Travel, today announced the publication of its August 2007 issue which contains exclusive, insider information on the dramatic changes to the historic Broadmoor resort in Colorado, the opening of Scotland’s new Carrick Course, and the newest, 36-hole stop on Alabama’s famous Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.

Golf Odyssey, the only golf travel publication in the world that conducts its on-site inspections anonymously and accepts no advertising, discounts or free "fam trips" from the properties it reviews, opens its August issue with a trip to the eastern edge of the Colorado Rockies to investigate the complete makeover of the iconic Broadmoor resort. While the extensive renovations included an overall room reduction, the reopening and expanding of a formerly defunct golf course, a new restaurant, and new resort activities, Golf Odyssey’s editors candidly assess for its readers if they are true "improvements" or just window dressing.

Golf Odyssey then focuses its critical eye on the area due west of St. Andrews, Scotland, where the new Carrick Course has ended Loch Lomond Golf Club’s reign as the sole source of golf in the Loch Lomond resort region. Even better, the Carrick Course is open to the public and Golf Odyssey reveals whether or not it’s the type of course around which one can and should schedule a Scotland golf vacation, like so many of the country’s other masterpieces.

From there, Golf Odyssey heads back east to Muscle Shoals, Ala., and the latest 36-hole venue on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. At more than 8,000 yards apiece, Fighting Joe and The Schoolmaster courses are the longest courses on the Trail, but Golf Odyssey evaluates if they truly offer anything more and therefore justify a visit to one of the most remote spots on this popular golf trail.

"Reading our August issue, like every issue of Golf Odyssey, is like having a personal team of researchers who scout out the best places to play, stay and dine — and what to avoid — so you don’t waste time or money on sub-par experiences," said David Baum, Golf Odyssey’s publisher and editor-in-chief. "More than information, we provide expert, unbiased advice. And, it’s advice that is trusted by the most discriminating golf travelers in the world."

Next month, Golf Odyssey takes its readers to Kissimmee, Fla, to evaluate the three courses making names for themselves at Reunion Resort; to France, where Evian is more than just a name of the famous bottled water; and to Maine, to see if Clive Clark’s Belgrade Lakes Golf Club is worthy of its many accolades.
