EL SEGUNDO, CA—Two companies, whose sole business is golf, have joined forces in a partnership to help grow the game by providing youngsters not only with a unique at-school, after-school curriculum, but with some of the best teaching aids available.
Total Golf Adventures, the rapidly growing junior golf organization that has introduced golf to nearly 30,000 K-8th grade students through its at-school, after-school programs in four years, has added IZZO GOLF, a New York-based company, to its list of partners that are helping youngsters get started in golf.
In addition to IZZO GOLF, Total Golf Adventures has established relationships with Nicklaus Golf Equipment, the official provider of junior golf clubs; Garb, Inc., the official provider of apparel for participants and staff; Divix Golf, designer and manufacturer of a patented divot tool; and Almost Golf Ball’s P3 Ball, providing a safe, practice ball for TGA programs
"Adding IZZO GOLF products to our curriculum has greatly enhanced our specialized 5 Level After School Program. Not only does IZZO GOLF provide the best golf teaching aids and practice tools in the industry, their products make the game fun for our students to learn," says Steve Tanner, Total Golf Adventures’ National Program Director.
IZZO GOLF will provide TGA territory managers with their Mini Mouth; Backyard Driving Range; Flag Pole Pocket; 3×9 Putting Mats; Travel Covers, and a variety of other teaching aids.
"All of our partners are providing TGA students with a great learning experience," adds Tanner. "The fact that we use the highest-quality junior equipment and teaching aides, allows us to provide students with an in-depth knowledge of golf’s swings, skills, rules, etiquette and life values in a safe and fun environment."
"IZZO GOLF started as mainly a strap and golf bag company," says, Dave Witkoski, "but we have now grown well beyond our initial product mix to become of the leading providers of teaching aids and accessories. We are very pleased to join forces with Total Golf Adventures, an innovative company and a leading initiative to growing golf. This partnership allows us to showcase the effectiveness of our products while enjoying tremendous exposure within 1,000+ schools across America. Most importantly, it helps us get more youngsters excited about golf and learning the game in a fun program."
TGA has programs operating in more than 1,000 schools in 21 states. The TGA curriculum was developed with input from PGA Professionals and PhD’s in Child Development and Education. Their input has ensured that TGA teaches golf in a manner that is easy for children to learn and retain while reinforcing educational concepts. In addition to instruction, students learn to: keep score, count strokes (addition/subtraction); judge distances to the golf hole; (visual perception); and, study golf rules and etiquette (reading rule books by the National Golf Foundation or in the case of younger children, identifying with pictures).
As students advance through TGA’s unique 5 Level After School Program they are then transitioned to learning how to play on a golf course. Advanced level students are prepped to play competitively through TGA and PGA Section teachings.
