PLANO, TEXAS, August 20, 2007 – Adams Golf (OTCBB:ADGO) extended its #1 hybrid ranking on the Nationwide Tour to 34 consecutive tournaments after having 80 of its hybrids in play at last week’s Xerox Classic, according to the Darrell Survey. Adams Golf accounted for 50% of the total number of hybrids in play at the event.
Additionally, the tournament champion played an 18-degree Idea Pro hybrid, the same hybrid he had in his bag for his other two victories earlier this year.
Along with the tournament champion playing an Adams Golf hybrid, three other golfers in the Top 10 carried them in their bags and 10 of the Top 20 did as well. It was a display of the company’s strong presence on the Nationwide Tour with so many of the elite players choosing to play its equipment.
"We’re thrilled with the results from this past week at the Xerox Classic and the entire Nationwide Tour season for that matter," said Max Puglielli, director of tour operations for Adams Golf. "The fact that the guys playing our clubs are also winning tournaments is a bonus and adds to the performance benefits of our products. By accounting for 50% of all hybrids it just reinforces the claim that no other company is dominating a club category like we are with our hybrids."
PGA TOUR
Only one single hybrid kept Adams Golf from claiming its 11th hybrid count victory of 2007 on the PGA TOUR. There were 34 Adams Golf hybrids in play at the Wyndham Championship, 27% of the total hybrids in play. Three of the Top 11 finishers at the tournament played Adams Golf hybrids including the second-place finisher who used the new Idea a3 Boxer Hybrid.
Champions Tour
Adams led the Overall Woods Count at the JELD-WEN Tradition, the fourth of five majors on the Champions Tour, with 99 total woods in play at the event. The Woods category includes drivers, fairway woods and hybrids. A staggering 59% of all hybrids in play were from Adams Golf and like many of the top finishers on the PGA and Nationwide Tours last week, six of the Top 10 on the Champions Tour carried Adams Golf equipment in their bags.
