LAKE MARY, FL — The focus again falls on grass roots media and their relationships with golf courses and vendors in the 6th Annual ING Fall Forum, held in conjunction with the PGA Fall Expo.
The ING Fall Forum, an annual gathering of media and business people from the golf industry, is set for Sept. 9-12 at New York-New York Hotel Casino and Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
The PGA Fall Expo will be held Sept. 11-12 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. A Demo Day and golf outing is set for Royal Links Golf Club Monday, Sept. 10.
Anyone in the golf and media industries is invited to attend.
Two ING workshops are listed among the PGA Fall Expo educational opportunities for all PGA Fall Expo attendees, and will be conducted in the ING meeting and hospitality room at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
Both workshops are structured to improve communication and increase revenue for grass roots businesses, media and pro shops.
One deals specifically with apparel and other golf merchandise. Publishers and editors will learn how enhanced coverage of specific merchandise and technology can bring additional advertising revenue and promotional programs with local golf courses and retail shops. Local pro shops depend so heavily on soft good sales, and regional publications usually have solid relationships with the local courses. Combine those two facts, and revenue opportunities are born. This workshop will teach regional publishers, buyers and vendors how to take advantage of the opportunities.
The other stresses the importance of constant communication between grass roots media and the PGA professionals and courses in their circulation or viewing/listening area. There are so many ways the media and the PGA professionals can assist one another. This workshop will delve into those methods.
There will also be two golf events – the Triple Play Mixer on Sunday at The Revere Golf Club, where three formats will be utilized during the competition, and the ING Team Challenge within the PGA Fall Expo Monday golf outing at highly ranked Royal Golf Links, which consists of replica holes from the great British Open venues.
There will also be product displays and presentations during the three-day meeting, and the new ING Pavilion will be open to members and guests from inside the PGA Fall Expo show hall.
There is a waiting list for both golf events, and all ING hotel rooms are sold out, but there is still display space for ING members in the ING Pavilion, and space in the educational sessions.
