DOW XLAÌ¢?å¢ premier launch with Greg Norman Collection in golf market
New York, NY—Greg Norman Collection, a leader in golf-inspired sportswear, advances Signature Series for Spring 2008 with the Luxury Ultimate 80s Polo.
"We always begin with the concept of performance, luxury and style when designing the line and as a designer in the golf industry, there is a responsibility to stay ahead of the performance curve," says Jeremy Brandrick, Senior Design Director. "For Spring 2008, we are particularly excited about developing Ultimate Greg Norman with the introduction of the Luxury Ultimate 80s Polo from Signature Series."
Designed with the performance standards of Ultimate Greg Norman fabric (fade- wrinkle- pill- and shrink-resistance plus an anti-curl collar), Luxury Ultimate 80s is made from extra-fine 80s two-ply double mercerized Egyptian cotton with added innovation from a revolutionary stretch fiber called DOW XLAâ?¢. The stretch dimension, which is a premier element to Greg Norman Collection in the golf market, preserves the shape of the garment while producing the ultimate in mobility.
"Lately questions have been raised about cotton," says Suzy Biszantz, CEO/President. "Greg Norman Collection has always found success with this fiber as well as performance fibers. Ultimate Greg Norman, which launched in 2004, is one example and Luxury Ultimate 80s is the next installment."
Offered in six solid colors (Clover; Coastal; Calypso; Dandelion; Navy; White), with a suggested retail price of $87, Luxury Ultimate 80s is available beginning December 1st along with other Signature Series pieces including a new trouser called Luxury Weekend Pant. Designed with a fresh approach, the pant is made from a luxurious cotton/Tencel blend and features five pockets, reminiscent to the typical styling of denim pants. Its suggested retail is $110. Additional bottoms are available in the Signature Performance Fit. Unique to the marketplace, Play Dry ML 50, a luxury-infused weightless performance polo knitted at an extremely high gauge, is now available in a complementing bar stripe pattern. The special cross-section knitting process also naturally provides UV protection and Spring 2008 offers several other UV-protective styles—the largest assortment yet from Greg Norman Collection.
The company also announces the hiring of three new sales reps for its Specialty and Department Store business—a division that has been incredibly successful with Signature Series.
