3-Time Nationwide Champion Earns Promotion To PGA Tour
Memphis, TNâ?¦With a win at last week’s Xerox Classic in Rochester, N.Y., Grafalloy claimed its sixth Nationwide Tour title of the year and second in as many weeks. Last week’s champion at the Northeast Pennsylvania Classic claimed a one-stroke victory using Comp NT in his fairway wood, while this week’s winner trusted ProLaunch Blue to come from seven shots back on Sunday.
The champion overpowered the field with a 7-under par 63 to win more than just a paycheck. With his third victory this year on the Nationwide Tour, the winner played his way into full status on the PGA Tour benefiting from the three-win "battlefield" promotion. He is the first player to earn such a promotion since 2005.
