August 27th 2007 (New Zealand). Puku Golf recently entered their putters into the Golf Test USA 2007 testing program and was awarded the Golf Test USA "Seal of Excellence".
According to Golf Test USA, "to be awarded the Seal of Excellence a golf product must be tested and reviewed by their staff of golf testers and be judged to be of superior quality, value and performance. A golfer who purchases one of these products can feel confident that it will be a quality product."
Puku Golf has recently launched its range of USGA conforming regular and belly putters through an infomercial on The Golf Channel. They incorporate an adjustable length feature for custom fitting purposes onto a premium putter that also features a 420 gram head with heel-toe weighting for higher MOI, a center balanced head for increased stability, a reverse taper round grip for improved comfort and feel and a curved rocker sole easily allowing for changes to the lie angle. They are also very pleasing on the eye.
Simon Moore, founder and CTO of Puku Golf said "we are very pleased to receive this award from Golf Test USA, our putters are quite unique that they offer so many features compared to other putters on the market. We always strive to make outstanding putters that deliver real benefits to the golfer that are not based on hype."
"The adjustable length is a significant benefit as the length of the putter is the most critical aspect to a correct set up and a good, reliable putting stroke. It is also interesting the belly putter category is enjoying a surge in public interest at the moment, but people must remember because the putter touches the body the length is absolutely critical. Being able to adjust the regular putter from 31 to 39 inches and the belly putter from 31 to 48 inches allows for custom fitting that we haven’t seen until now. I believe we’ll see more of this type of technology finding its way into other manufacturers clubs as there are huge benefits to the golfer custom fitting themselves, and of course the retailers don’t have to stock every length."
What also makes these putters unique is the ability to swap from a regular putter to a belly putter as the grip units are separate items that can be easily removed and interchanged with the special adjustment tool.
Puku Golf Ltd is a New Zealand company founded in 2004 by Simon Moore as a specialist belly putter company, which has now added regular putters to its product range. Puku literally means ‘belly’ in Maori – the native language of New Zealand. For more information on Puku Golf please email daniel.chapman@pukugolf.com visit their website at www.pukugolf.com.
