Mitchell® Golf Equipment Company, Dayton, OH will participate in Patriot Golf Day, which is slated for September 1st. Over 2500 golf course facilities are committed to host this first year program to raise money for the Fallen Heroes Foundation, which supports families of those who have become disabled or lost their lives in the line of military duty.
Mitchell® Golf will make Patriot Golf Day a month long promotion by asking customers placing orders to contribute $1 to this worthwhile charity. Mitchell® Golf will also donate $1 for every order received in September that donates. Donations can be made with online or phone orders. Mitchell® Golf encourages other golf related businesses to follow its lead to raise money for this program that is sponsored by both the USGA and The PGA of America.
Patriot Golf Day is the idea of Daniel Rooney, a PGA Professional who is also an F-16 fighter pilot in the Oklahoma Air National Guard. Captain Rooney has served two tours of duty in Iraq. His admirable idea brings our industry together in the spirit of golf and it will have a dramatic impact on the families that have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
