23 Colleges Will Participate In Event, Hosted By Sea Trail Resort For Seven Years
September 30, 2007, Sunset Beach, N.C. – Sea Trail Golf Resort & Convention Center will host the 2007 Collegiate Golf Tournament on September 21st through September 23rd, 2007. This is the seventh year that Sea Trail is hosting the event.
Teams will participate in the three-day, 54-hole event, which will be played on The Jones Course and The Byrd Course. The field for the Collegiate Tournament is comprised of 22 men’s teams and 16 women’s teams from 23 colleges.
"We are delighted to be hosting the collegiate tournament again," said Tom Plankers, President of Sea Trail Golf. "Our courses are in great condition for the competition."
The 23 colleges include six from North Carolina, five from Virginia, two from South Carolina, two from Maryland, two from Florida and one team each from Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Ohio. This year’s host college is Elon University in Elon, N.C. Other participating colleges include High Point University in High Point, N.C.; Gardener-Webb University in Boiling Springs, N.C.; University of South Carolina Upstate in Spartanburg, S.C.; James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va.; Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio; and Stetson University in DeLand, Fla.
