(Vista, CA) -August 30, 2007 — The popular HEX² driver has generated the development of a complete line of HEX² products. HiPPO Golf Company today announced the introduction of the HEX² Fairway Woods, Hybrids and Putter. After much anticipation, the new clubs will be unveiled at the PGA Fall Expo in Las Vegas, NV at Hippo’s Booth, located in the Equipment Test Center at ETC 6..
"The response to the HEX² Driver has been phenomenal with both our retail partners and consumers," commented David Dixon, CEO of HiPPO Golf Company, Inc. "Because of this, our engineers began working immediately to utilize the same proven design criteria with hard to hit fairway woods, hybrids, and even the putter. The HEX2 design with its high Moment of Inertia and extra back weighting just makes clubs easier to hit and be more forgiving on miss hits and we believe all golfers want that."
The HEX² Fairway Woods include a 17-degree 4-wood and a 21-degree 6-wood. These clubs feature the same unique hexagonal shape as the driver, allowing optimum weight distribution to reduce the effect of side spin and provide more energy transfer from club face to ball resulting in straighter, longer shots. The aerodynamically shaped club head has a shallow face and is designed to reduce drag on the backswing and generate higher head speed at impact.
HiPPO’s patented Integrated Technology marries a maraging stainless steel head with an ultra light woven carbon on the top rails. Maximum weight at the back corners provides an extremely high Moment of Inertia (MOI) and helps stabilize the club head on miss hits.
The HEX² Hybrid Clubs include a 17-degree #3, 20-degree #4, and a 23-degree #5. The unique hexagonal shaped club is constructed with a maraging stainless steel head with carbon rails for a higher MOI.
The HEX² Fairway Woods and Hybrids feature HiPPO’s CP4 proprietary shaft utilizing state of the art Mitsubishi Rayon with high modulus graphite fibers. They are available in right-handed only with stiff and regular flexes. These clubs also feature the HiPPO dual "compound cord" grip.
The HEX² Putter also features the hexagonal shape made popular by the HEX² Driver. Three highly visible hexagons on top of the putter head create a unique alignment system allowing for straighter putts. The CNC milled aluminum face is backed with polymer to create a soft yet firm feel. The hexagonal shape of the putter along with three grams of weight in each of the back corners gives it a high MOI and a huge sweet spot. The putter sets square at address and stays on plane through impact.
The new line of HEX² products will be available in mid-September. According to Dixon, a complete line of HEX² Irons is in the works for introduction in early 2008. As with all HiPPO products, the entire HEX² line provides golfers with high performance clubs at an incredible value. The Fairway Woods and Hybrids have an MSRP of $119.00 . The Putter has an MSRP of $99.00.
In addition to the new HEX² Fairway Woods, Hybrids, and Putter, HiPPO’s full line of products will be displayed at booth # ETC 6. Attendees will have the opportunity to check out the entire line of products including the ITX 3 line of clubs, the redesigned stretch margin XXL product group, and the industry’s largest selection of packages and boxed sets for men, women and juniors.
