New Bedford, Mass, September 4, 2007 – Kate Lord by AHEAD has emerged as one of the fastest growing women’s apparel companies since its debut in 2004. In 2008, AHEAD will introduce a new contemporary look to the Kate Lord line and broaden the appeal of the brand, with emphasis on high performance fabrics and a wider product range.
"The Kate Lord brand has done phenomenal in the golf shops and now it is time to take it to the next level," said Tracy Wilson, general manager, Kate Lord. "The re-launch has been very account driven, as women’s golf apparel is often a tough sell in the shops today. The Kate Lord line offers a classic fit, is always in stock for easy fill-ins, looks great customized and is priced right. The one area where our customers wanted us to go deeper with was performance fabrics. We listened and our 2008 line is about 75% performance."
KLPerformance is the cornerstone of the new Kate Lord line. All of the garments in the KLPerformance line combine high breathability with a moisture management construction to keep women feeling cool, dry and most importantly, comfortable throughout their round. The line features three types of performance tops:
+ KL Coolmax® FXâ?¢ – in combination with Coolmax technology, Coolmax FX delivers breathable garments that stay cool and dry with the added benefit of helping clothes resist odors.
+ KL Hybridwear – a perfect combination of style and performance, the KL Hybridwear gives golfers the care, comfort and feel of cotton with the moisture-wicking benefits of hi-tech fabrics.
+ KL Performance Poly – the quick dry performance polos feature moisture-wicking benefits that keep the garment dry and cool.
The five groupings for 2008 line feature a core palette with rich, complementary fashion colors. The collection colors are emerald green/kiwi, coral/bloom, lemon, cobalt/blue horizon and scarlet/white/black.
+ Each grouping includes a short, skort and crop pants along with matching outerwear pieces.
+ The lightweight, stretch fabrics give women a more relaxed shaped fit.
+ There are two ship dates for the line: October 25, 2007 and January 15, 2008.
+ Suggested retail for the Kate Lord Line (tops, bottoms and outwear) ranges from $30.00 – $80.00.

+ Crop Sailor Pant – New for Kate Lord this year is the crop sailor pant. Made of 100% polyester twill with mechanical stretch, the pant features adjustable button side tabs, back welt pockets and front vents at the lower leg. The pant is wrinkle resistant and has moisture-wicking benefits to keep golfers cool.
