ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 30, 2007 — Turnstile Publishing Company, a leading publishing company specializing in high-end publications for active and affluent audiences, was honored with nine awards including two first-place Charlie awards during the Florida Magazine Association’s Annual Publishing Conference and Trade Show Aug. 25, 2007.
Four Turnstile publications, Golfweek, TurfNet (formerly Golfweek’s SuperNEWS), Fish & Fly and Art Calendar, were honored at the Charlie awards banquet.
Golfweek received a Charlie Award in the Best In-Depth Reporting category for consumer magazines with circulation over 50,000 for the article titled, "A Mini Tour with Mighty Aspirations" by Adam Schupak.
Golfweek also received a Silver Award for "All Aboard" by John Steinbreder
in the Best Feature category and a Bronze Award for Best Editorial/Commentary/Opinion for Golfweek’s "Our Opinion."
TurfNet received a Charlie Award in the Best In-Depth Reporting category for trade publications with "Mowing All the Rules" by John Reitman. The same article received a Bronze Award for Best Feature Headline. In addition, TurfNet brought home a Silver Award for Best Special Theme or Show Issue for it’s Oct. 27, 2006 "Golf & the Environment" issue.
Fish & Fly, a publication in the Turnstile portfolio of magazines, won a Bronze Award for Printing Excellence and a Bronze Award for Best Overall Use of Photography in the consumer magazine with circulation under 50,000 category.
Art Calendar, also published by Turnstile, won a Bronze Award for Best Redesign.
