(Ypsilanti, Michigan)—The Kendall Golf Academy at Miles of Golf has long been recognized as one of the top golf instruction facilities in the Midwest. That reputation has been underscored again with news of new national honors and recognition for golf professionals Dave Kendall and Tom Tontapanish.
Both were named to as "Top 50 Golf Instructors in America" in a poll of teaching professionals selected by Golf Range Magazine. Though Kendall and Tontapanish are no strangers to awards for golf instruction, the designation from Golf Range Magazine represents something different. "Our teaching group is selected much differently," said Steve di Costanzo, president of Golf Range Magazine. "We focus on instructors who work either year-round or seasonally at golf ranges, learning centers, golf domes or academies at golf complexes with a short course."
The award caps a banner 2007 season for Kendall, who is the current Michigan Senior PGA and Michigan Senior Open champion. "This is a highly-regarded honor coming from a noted industry publication," said Kendall. "I’m also delighted that the recognition is being given as well to Tom, who represents everything good about our staff of PGA and LPGA professionals here." For his part, Tontapanish agreed with Kendall’s assessment. "We have a staff of instructors here that really motivates each of us as individuals to provide the best service and instruction for our students. I learn more about the golf swing and instruction from Dave and my fellow professionals every day."
