LAKE MARY, FL – Members of the International Network Of Golf will have a full schedule next week as the annual two-events-in-one extravaganza – the ING Fall Forum and the PGA Fall Expo – takes place in Las Vegas, NV.
The ING is a 17-year-old non-profit networking organization open to anyone in the golf industry and golf media.
First up is the 6th ING Fall Forum Sept. 9-12, which includes two golf tournaments, two educational sessions focused on media relations, and several networking opportunities.
That is followed by ING participation in the PGA Fall Expo at Mandalay Bay Convention Center in two different settings. The ING meeting & hospitality room – South Pacific Room D – is open to all ING members and guests for private meetings or breaks from the show floor. There will be product displays from ING members in this room throughout the show. And the ING Pavilion – Booth 906 inside the show hall – is available to ING members and guests as well.
The South Pacific Room D will also host the two ING educational sessions, both of which are open to all PGA Fall Expo attendees, and are included among the PGA Fall Expo educational options. The sessions begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
The Tuesday seminar deals specifically with apparel and other golf merchandise. Publishers and editors will learn how enhanced coverage of specific merchandise and technology can bring additional advertising revenue and promotional programs with local golf courses and retail shops. Local pro shops depend so heavily on soft good sales, and regional publications usually have solid relationships with the local courses. Combine those two facts, and revenue opportunities are born. This workshop will teach regional publishers, buyers and vendors how to take advantage of the opportunities. It is led by Ray Hurtado of Vegas Golfer magazine and Patricia Dahan of TaylorMade-adidas Golf.
The Wednesday session stresses the importance of constant communication between grass roots media and the PGA professionals, courses and golf-related businesses in their circulation or viewing/listening area. This workshop will also touch on how golf companies and courses can better publicize their products and services. Panelists include Patrick Coulson of Golf Buzz, golf writer Brian Hurlburt and publicist Joe Wieczorek of The Media Group.
There will also be two golf events – the Triple Play Mixer on Sunday at The Revere Golf Club, where three formats will be utilized during the competition, and the ING Team Challenge within the PGA Fall Expo Monday golf outing at highly ranked Royal Golf Links, which consists of replica holes from the great British Open venues. Team sponsors for Monday’s competition include Esoteric Golf, Golf Mesquite Nevada, Golfpac Travel and Power Drive Endurance Drink.
