POWAY, Calif. – Three-time LPGA tournament winner Paula Creamer and Aldila Advisory Staff member is the top points earner for the 2007 U.S. Solheim Cup Team and will lead the 12-player squad. The Solheim Cup featuring the 12 best U.S.-born players from the LPGA and the 12 best European-born players from the Ladies European Tour, is Sept. 14-16 at Halmstad Golf Club in Halmstad, Sweden.
"I think its (Solheim Cup) become incredibly popular over the last several years and watching the veterans play has always been an inspiration to me, and I’m very honored and privileged to be on this team with these 12 players," said Creamer. "I think the biggest thing is we are 12 players, but we have to go over as one, and I think we’re able to do that. And I believe that if we do that we will have a chance to hold that Cup and bring it back."
The Solheim Cup is the most prestigious team event in women’s professional golf. The biennial, trans-Atlantic event pits the United States against Europe for three days of grueling match play competition.
Creamer picked up her third win of her career at this year’s SBS Open at the Turtle Bay Resort in Oahu, Hawaii.
