LIBERTYVILLE (September 11, 2007) Crescent Systems announces the recent installation of their Club Management Software at the Brunswick Country Club in Brunswick, Georgia. Crescent will install a full-suite of modules to operate the entire club providing for all retail/member transactions, member billing, Fine Dining, integrated credit card management, full accounting system and Crescent’s highly acclaimed Club Manager and Time Clock/Time Manager modules.
Brunswick Country Club plays host to the Golden Isles Invitational Tournament each year and has done so since the inaugural event in 1949. The Golden Isles Invitational has broad appeal and attracts players from across the eastern United States.
Brunswick Country Club was established in 1920, but moved to its current location in 1936 as a nine-hole course with sand greens. In 1938, one of history’s greatest course architects, Donald Ross, was hired to design the back nine. Subsequently, Ross provided drawings to redesign the existing front nine greens. There have been many changes over the past 70 years. But in November 2006, the Club started a 12 month restoration project where the greens will be returned to their original size, shape and elevation. In addition, the tee complexes will be rebuilt, numerous holes will be lengthened and bunkers will be reconstructed to today’s standards.
Scheduled to reopen in 2008 is a new 15,000 square foot clubhouse which will include a golf shop, spacious dining areas, a grill room and bar area, locker rooms and a meeting room. They will have the flexibility to accommodate large member functions as well as special events.
