Couples/Bates Design has Claimed Title Three of Past Four Years
(TALLAHASSEE, Fla.) – SouthWood Golf Club – the award-winning public course at the heart of one of Tallahassee’s most comprehensively designed communities – today announces it has been voted Tallahassee’s "Best Golf Course" in the October issue of Tallahassee Magazine, marking the third time in four years SouthWood has won the award.
The magazine polled its readers on their favorites in more than 100 categories including restaurants, shopping, recreation and entertainment. Golf courses were grouped in a single category, and SouthWood was the top vote-getter from among both public and private courses. The Fred Couples/Gene Bates designed facility has topped Tallahassee Magazine’s list three times, having also received "Best of" honors in 2004 and 2006. SouthWood’s Becky Sauers is a three-time Tallahassee Magazine winner as the area’s top golf instructor.
