Sophisticated New Tool Gives Golfers Online Club Recommendations Based On Their Swing Characteristics
CARLSBAD, Calif. (September 11, 2007) – The TaylorMade-adidas Golf Company (TMaG) has unveiled a new Online Fitting System on taylormadegolf.com, designed to provide consumers the opportunity to receive custom TaylorMade driver recommendations based on their swing characteristics.
Because golfers are built differently and swing differently, a club that works for one player may not work for another player. That’s why TaylorMade created its Online Fitting System, which is targeted at both men and women in search of a driver that best fits their game and individual style of play. The interactive fitting system invites players to enter information regarding their current distance, shaft type, accuracy, trajectory and shot shape; the Online Fitting System uses that data to determine the appropriate TaylorMade driver model, loft and shaft that promote increased distance and accuracy.
"Our research indicates that many golfers currently use clubs that don’t properly fit their swing, either because the loft is incorrect, the shaft flex is too stiff or the clubhead’s center of gravity is too high or low," said Will Miele, Custom Fitting Initiative Manager.
"A driver that fits correctly can improve a player’s performance dramatically. We created our Online Fitting System to give consumers a better idea about which clubhead, loft and shaft model will work best with their individual swing."
After the Online Fitting System makes a recommendation, consumers are encouraged to print the results and take them to a local authorized TaylorMade retailer or TaylorMade custom-fitter to verify the exact specifications.
