Through Wal-Mart First Tee
Gil Morgan moved up three places from 27th to 24th with his victory in the Wal-Mart First Tee Open. Tom Watson, with a third place finish, overtook Jay Haas and moved into 2nd place. Haas dropped to third. Fred Funk is now 4th.
Only six players remained in the same place as previous rankings.
Moves up: Hale Irwin from 20th to 13th; Don Pooley from 31st to 27th;
Moves down: Scott Simpson from 23rd to 31st; Craig Stadler from 33rd to 39th; Massy Kuramato from 39th to 46th.
Returning: Larry Nelson, 22nd.
Rankings are based on 12-month performances of Champions Tour players. When a tournament is played, the previous year’s results are dropped. Losing a high finish, dropping a low finish, adding a new high finish or a new low finish affects standings. Players must have a minimum number of points to be included in the rankings, but all players are tracked.
Bold indicates change from last week. Blue bold indicates larger changes in position from previous week. Orange for dropped players and Green is for returning or entering players. Red is for winners. $$ column of numbers reflects position on Champions Tour money list.
