Lake Las Vegas Golfer Natalie Gulbis Reveals Most Memorable Golf Moment

Earlier this year, Las Vegas golf’s own Natalie Gulbis, who plays out of the Las Vegas golf courses of Reflection Bay Golf Club, the Falls Golf Club and SouthShore Golf Club, at Lake Las Vegas Resort, won the Evian Masters. It was a big win, but maybe not her most notable, as in 2005 she went 3-1 for the US in Solheim Cup. "Winning the Solheim Cup in 2005 was the most memorable week in my golf career," Gulbis wrote via Blackberry from Halmstad Golf Club in Sweden, site of the 2007 event. "Playing for the USA and in front of 100k fans chanting USA was incredible. I have been working hard for two years to make this team. I am looking forward to a great week."

World’s Club Companies Reveal Technology at Royal Links Golf Club

The PGA Fall Expo is once again in Las Vegas, and about 50 club companies participated in a demo day at Royal Links Golf Club, one of three Las Vegas golf courses owned and operated by Walters Golf. More than 700 pros and other industry representatives descended on the Dye Designs International layout that pays homage to the holes used in the British Open rotation. The other two Walters Golf Las Vegas golf courses are Desert Pines Golf Club and Bali Hai Golf Club. Industry leaders such as Nike, Callaway, Wilson, Etonic and others were on hand to launch new products. "Demo Day has been a wonderful opportunity to introduce our new products by allowing PGA Professionals and buyers to actually test-drive the latest equipment that Wilson Golf is introducing for 2008," said Kevin Dorrington, regional sales manager, Wilson Golf.

PGA Tour Announces Shriners Guarantee PGA Tour in Vegas Through 2012

The PGA Tour officially announced that the Shriners Hospitals for Children organization has increased its level of partnership with the Las Vegas PGA Tour event beginning in 2008 and running through 2012. This year the event is called the FRYS.com Open Benefiting the Shriners Hospitals for Children. The PGA Tour says that the Shriners have agreed to a five-year commitment to continue as the host organization, and "will commit the necessary resources to the event to assure its continuation in Las Vegas through at least 2012." More details will be made available in the coming weeks, but those close to the discussions termed the new role as similar to a title sponsorship. Also, possible format changes for 2008 could be in store that would include having no pro-am during the official PGA Tour rounds, but adding a Wednesday pro-am and a Monday celebrity pro-am. No plans have been officially finalized. Ultimately, the event could also become a focal point for a "Golf week in Las Vegas". Thefrysopen.com
