#1 Brand Wins on PGA and Duramed Futures Tours
Marlborough, MA-September 12th, 2007- CHAMP Spikes, the Number One Brand on Tour, announces that the winner of the third round of the Fed-Ex Cup playoffs wore CHAMP spikes.
After winning his 60th PGA Tour Victory on Sunday at the 2007 BMW Championship at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club, the top ranked golfer in the world now leads the standings in the FedEx Cup.
The number one golfer in the world wore CHAMP’s traditional steel Cermec® spike while finishing with a 22-under 262 aggregate to crush his own tournament record by five strokes and beat his nearest challenger by two strokes. The second place finisher also counted on CHAMP’s Cermec spike, while the third place finisher wore CHAMP’s Scorpion Stingerâ?¢ to fulfill his traction needs. In all, 41% of the field wore CHAMP Spikes, including the top five, and twelve of the top thirteen finishers.
In Albany, New York at the I Love New York Championship, The Duramed Futures Tour finished their season by awarding the top five money winners with their 2008 LPGA Tour exemption cards. All five players finished their season wearing CHAMP Stinger Spikes. CHAMP also recognized Liz Janangelo with a $1,000 check for winning the CHAMP Eastern Challenge, an in season player bonus program based on participation and performance. CHAMP is the official spike of the Duramed Futures Tour.
