LAKE MARY, FL – The new timeline for the 15th Annual ING Media Awards means that entries are due into the International Network Of Golf’s office in early October.
Entries for all of the 13 categories must be postmarked by October 1 this year, due to the new timeline for presenting the awards. In a move that makes it more convenient for more of the winners to attend the ceremony, the ING Executive Committee decided to move the announcement and presentation ceremony from the ING Spring Conference to the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando. The 15th ING Media Awards will be announced at the Presentation Press Conference on Thursday, January 17, 12:30 p.m. in ClubING (309-A) at the Orange County Convention Center on the first day of the 2008 PGA Merchandise Show.
The International Network of Golf, a non-profit networking organization, conducts the ING Media Awards program. Membership is open to anyone in the golf industry, or any media member who covers golf or some aspect of the sport and business as part of his or her job. Only ING members are eligible to enter the contest, but new members are welcomed to join with their entries.
The new postmark deadline for entries is October 1, 2007. Articles, photographs and shows must have been published or aired between January 1 and September 30, 2007 to be eligible for the 2007 ING Media Awards.
Also for this year’s awards, ING has added an "Apparel Writing" category, giving the group 13 different categories. The new category rewards excellence in stories focused mainly on clothing and garments created for, and utilized in, the game of golf. Stories can be based on technology or trends relating to golf apparel.
Other writing categories are: Equipment, Travel, Profiles, Instruction, Business, Competition and Opinions. There are also categories for Books, TV, Radio, Photography and Illustration.
Entry forms and rules and regulations can be found at www.inggolf.com under Media Awards.
