Online Store to feature Photography, Books and Collectibles
NEW YORK, NY—Anyone who has ever desired to own a piece of golf history will now have the ability to do so in one convenient online location. Golf Digest and Condé Nast have unveiled Golf Digest Shop (www.condenaststore.com/golfdigest), a one-stop marketplace for timeless treasures of the game. The announcement was made today by Jerry Tarde, Chairman and Editor-In-Chief of Golf Digest.
"Our goal with Golf Digest Shop is to provide the ultimate medium for golf enthusiasts and casual fans alike to purchase historic keepsakes of the game," said Tarde. "We are excited to open our archives to the public and share with them some truly elegant pieces of golf history."
The online store will carry more than 1,200 photographs and golf-themed illustrations. Customers will also have the opportunity for the first time to purchase images from The American Golfer magazine, including vintage covers from 1900-1939 and swing sequences from such golf legends as Byron Nelson, Bobby Jones and Walter Hagen. The American Golfer was published by Condé Nast during this time.
Golf Digest Shop will also feature classic golf photographs that have graced the pages of Vogue and Vanity Fair, including images from famed photographer Edward Steichen.
To kickoff this new initiative, Golf Digest Shop will sell 200 autographed, limited edition photographs of Jack Nicklaus on the 18th hole at St. Andrews in 2005—the final British Open of his career. The prints will be sold framed for $1,250.
In addition to golf-themed photography, Golf Digest Shop will sell a wide variety of Golf Digest-branded products. Books, such as Golf Digest’s golf course bible, Best Places to Play, and collectibles, such as peg boards for "America’s 100 Greatest Courses," calendars and playing cards, will be available for purchase.
New arrivals, special collections and exclusive offers will be frequently added over time. Golf Digest and Condé Nast will have complete control over the products that are sold on the site.
