Nike Golf Adds More Nike Air to Reach Maximum Total Footwear Performance
BEAVERTON, Ore. (September 25, 2007) – Advancing Nike’s 25 years of designing performance footwear for athletes, Nike Golf is introducing its new men’s footwear line that is centered around two words – Total Performance.
Embodying Nike Golf’s total performance are two styles that soon will be represented on the PGA Tour by members of Nike Golf’s Tour staff — the Nike Air Tour TW 8.5 (MSRP: $230.00), which will be worn by Tiger Woods and the Nike Air Zoom Elite (MSRP: $155.00) to be worn by a majority of Nike Golf’s Tour staff.
The Nike Golf Air Tour TW 8.5 is a tech saddle that combines technical with contemporary style. Representing a combination of athletic and classic style is the Nike Golf Air Zoom Elite.
Available in stores starting on November 1, 2007, both the Nike Air Tour TW 8.5 and the Air Zoom Elite are examples of how Nike Golf footwear is building on its foundation of total performance — the marriage of Nike Air Technology with Nike Power Platform technology.
The magic behind maximizing total comfort in Nike Golf’s new footwear is the Nike Air Technology that provides lighter, softer and more stable comfort in a low-profile Air-Sole unit. Lending further to the foundation of total comfort and improved fit is the all-new molded Heel Fit System, which is formed directly to the heel for an exceptional no-slip fit.
Total traction originates from the Nike Power Platform technology located in the outsole, featuring the Nike Power Channel. The outside push plate provides support and control through the backswing, while the inside plate flexes to help maintain ground contact through impact. The result is a stronger push through impact for more power through the swing.
Adding to the realm of comfort is Nike’s Watershield Plus, a moisture-wicking, waterproof membrane to help keep golfers’ feet dry in the rain and comfortably ventilated in the heat. This advanced technology is all wrapped up in a premium, full-grain leather upper for durability and guaranteed comfort.
Designed to control rotational movement and keep the golfer centered and stable, Nike Golf uses Champ Q-Lock Scorpion Spikes and directional resistance nubs.
