LAURINBURG, N.C. â?¦ Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced today that Golf Pride® is releasing a limited edition pink and black DD2â?¢ swing grip with 25 cents of each grip benefiting Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organizationâ?¢.
The specially designed pink and black DD2 grip is available exclusively at GolfPride.com/Y-ME. The new model features a pink breast cancer awareness ribbon and the word "empower" engraved into the black soft rubber compound, for an attractive visual effect to demonstrate how Y-ME empowers those touched by breast cancer with information and peer support.
"We are proud to have incorporated such a beautiful and meaningful design into one of our latest technologically advanced swing grips," said Jeff Fiorini, general manager for Eaton’s Golf Grip Division. "Everyone knows someone affected by breast cancer and we are honored to continue working with an organization that brings empowerment and vital resources to those facing the disease and those who support them."
The DD2 was introduced for the 2007 golf season and is used by touring professionals as well as beginners. With an evolution in material placement and styling, the DD2 combines enhanced stability, ultimate comfort and reduced torque for consistent shot feedback. The molding technology provides torsional strength, which prevents the grip material from twisting or moving during the swing.
As part of Golf Pride’s continued commitment to women’s health, 25 cents from each sale of the black and pink DD2 designed grips will be donated to Y-ME.
Golf Pride offers two additional pink grips in its repertoire. Last year, in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Golf Pride released an all pink Dual Durometerâ?¢ putter grip, and an undersized Tour Velvet® grip with pink paint-fill that raised nearly $30,000 for Y-ME. Both can be found at most golf retailers and pro shops that provide regripping services.
Founded nearly 30 years ago, Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization’s mission is to ensure, through information, empowerment and peer support, that no one faces breast cancer alone. Y-ME has the only 24-hour hotline staffed entirely by trained peer counselors who are breast cancer survivors, with interpreters in 150 languages. Additionally, affiliates throughout the nation provide services such as support groups, breast health awareness workshops, wigs and prostheses for women with limited resources, and advocacy on breast cancer related policies in their communities. For breast cancer support or information, including publications and newsletters, visit www.y-me.org or call the Y-ME National Breast Cancer Hotline at 1-800-221-2141 (English, with interpreters in 150 languages) or 1-800-986-9505 (Spanish).
