"We have an incredible array of inspiring speakers, spanning both business and golf topics that resonate with our members," says Pam Swensen, CEO of the EWGA. "Our conference is much more than a golf event, though there certainly are abundant opportunities to play the outstanding courses at Amelia Island Plantation."
On Friday and Saturday, November 2-3, the conference includes the "Try, Test & Buy Fest" of golf equipment demonstrations by companies such as Adams Golf, Aldila, Callaway Golf, Club Car, C-Thru Grips, Golf Pride Grips, Koko P Sports, Nike Golf, PING, TaylorMade-adidas Golf and PGA of America. In addition, Thursday’s schedule includes time dedicated solely to the Shopping Marketplace which will include more companies such as American Airlines, Bette & Court, Be The Ball, Birdy and Grace, Chill International, CJ Golf, Cutter & Buck, The Greenbrier, Lori Bonn Design, OfficeMax, Rally for the Cure, Reynolds Plantation, Shop & Putt, Silpada, Tail and TournEase.
"Companies that have attended our annual conferences know first hand the shopping frenzy that occurs when our members discover products that appeal to women golfers or that they may not be able to find elsewhere," says Swensen. "It’s a unique opportunity to quickly reach a highly targeted group of women from around the country who are influential within their golfing sphere and their community."
A 2006 survey of EWGA members conducted by the PGA of America found that 62% are avid golfers, playing more than 25 rounds per year. EWGA members spent an average of $3,278 on golf activities and merchandise and another $2294 on golf related travel. Each EWGA chapter annually generates more than $512,000 in golf related spending within its community.
Since the EWGA started in 1991, more than 85,000 women have benefited from membership in the organization which is dedicated to providing opportunities to learn, play, and enjoy the game of golf for business and for life. EWGA chapters provide a wide range of golf, social and networking activities for both new and experienced golfers. A welcoming environment, golf education and player development, and organized play programs are part of the many benefits of EWGA membership.
The EWGA is headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. There are currently over 120 chapters throughout the United States with international chapters in Canada and France. For more information about the EWGA and its membership, visit www.ewga.com.
