Produced using the Full Release Performance Golf Grip
Salinas, CA: Doug Forsberg of Big Sur, CA made a hole-in-one on the # 2 hole at Salinas Golf & Country Club on Saturday, September 29, 2007. The second hole is a 138 yard (Blue tees) Par 3 with prevailing winds – that can make this short par 3 a tricky hole to play. The green is well protected by a large cypress on the left and two bunkers on the right – front and back.
Ken Hughes, one of the members in the foursome said: "Doug’s shot was as pure a straight shot as anyone can hit. The ball literally flew straight at the pin, bounced once on the green and then into the cup at the perfect speed. This was a great shot and not one of those you hear about that hits a tree, a rake in the bunker or worse and gets a lucky bounce and goes in the hole. While Doug is not known for his distance, he sure does hit the ball straight as an arrow."
Doug Forsberg said: "It was really nice to finally "join the club" and at my age, I was beginning to wonder if I ever would! I credit my accuracy by using the Feel Golf’s Reverse Taper Full Release Performance Grips. Majority of my playing companions are using the new grips and really seeing improved performance and confidence. My only comment is, " Why did they wait until I’m in my sixties to bring out the reverse grips?"
Since using the Full Release grips on all my clubs, my handicap is the lowest it has ever been, and I’ve gone from an 18 handicap to an 8 handicap without any other equipment changes.
The grips provide me with a better feel and are more ergonomically designed for the hand – making it easier for me to hold the club and swing with greater control and accuracy. Now that I’m in my sixties, I’ve lost some distance obviously, but the grips also provide me the ability to have a faster swing speed and generate a full release – giving me more distance off the tee or for any shot for that matter – I have the grips on all my clubs." Asked what he was going to do to celebrate the milestone, Doug said: "Well, first I am going to have to buy the traditional first round of beers for my playing partners! After that…, I guess I am going to call everyone I know who I play with and let them know and of course have my scorecard framed and so on. It’s really just a great feeling – especially after all these yearsâ?¦who knows, now that I’ve "broken the ice" so to speak, maybe it won’t take so long for the next one?!"
