SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The oldest and largest golf college in the world, the San Diego Golf Academy (SDGA) announces it is now accepting applications for spring enrollment. Spring semester begins January 4, 2008, and will feature a comprehensive curriculum designed to develop dedicated individuals in all areas of golf — from the classroom to the course.
"We work with students of all ages who want to take advantage of the growing opportunities in golf, and there’s no better time to learn about the golf industry than right now," says Eric Wilson, a PGA master professional and campus director of the Myrtle Beach Campus. "At the San Diego Golf Academy, we provide all the essential materials needed to be successful in this field, from business management classes to golf training courses to financial planning for tuition and housing."
Applicants for the SDGA must be 18 years of age or older, and must complete and submit an SDGA enrollment application. In addition, applicants must submit supporting documentation such as a high school transcript or SDGA GED attestation, and college transcript(s) if applicable. For applicants within the United States and Canada, a $50 nonrefundable processing fee is required within 30 days of applying to complete the admissions process. International applicants must submit a $75 processing fee within the same allotted time period.
Founded in 1974, San Diego Golf Academy is a two-year golf school that takes golfers’ skills to the next level while preparing them for a rewarding and successful golf career. SDGA’s programs and curriculum are designed to balance classroom studies with practical experience and comprehensive understanding of the business of golf.
SDGA offers a 16-month program of golf instruction and golf business management on four campus locations in major golf markets — Phoenix, Myrtle Beach, Orlando and San Diego. The curriculum is designed to provide graduates with the education required to get the golf job they desire. The SDGA is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), a national advocate and institutional voice for self-regulation of academic quality through accreditation.
