Las Vegas Golf Courses Angel Park, Legacy Go Brown to Go Green
Two more Las Vegas golf courses have completed major turf removal projects designed to save millions of gallons of water each year, but the by product of the projects are new, enhanced looks for the courses. You can judge for yourself from the before and after pictures of Angel Park Golf Club, but the effort to go "green" by going brown–basically re-creating desert areas where there was grass–is giving new looks to many top Las Vegas golf courses. The recent projects at Las Vegas golf courses Legacy Golf Club and Angel Park Golf Club are two of more than a dozen that have combined to save a billion gallons of water annually. Will one of the Las Vegas Golf 13 Win the FRYS.com Open?
The PGA Tour returns to Las Vegas this Thursday-Sunday with the playing of the 25th FRYS.com Open Benefiting Shriners Hospitals for Children at Las Vegas golf courses TPC Canyons and TPC Summerlin. And this year there are a record 13 golfers in the field with substantial Las Vegas golf ties, so we here at GolfLasVegasNow.com are picking one of them–notably Ryan Moore, Chris Riley, Charley Hoffman or Craig Barlow–to become the first resident, native or former UNLV golfer to win in his hometown. Nearly 10 percent of the players in the event have Las Vegas golf ties, so the odds are pretty good for a win from Vegas’ fun bunch, but what could set them apart is the fact that this is arguably the biggest event of the year–personally–for this group. Barlow and Hoffman both openly talk about the event as being like a "major" to them, and winning in Las Vegas would complete a major goal in each of their lifetimes. Thefrysopen.com
