ROANOKE, TEXAS (Oct. 12) – David "Ogie" Ogron, the record-setting world’s fastest golfer, will make a special appearance during the upcoming 2007 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship in Mesquite, Nevada, Long Drivers of America (LDA) announced today.
Ogron will perform between the senior division and open division finals on Saturday evening (Oct. 27) at the Palms GC.
"Ogie will be a great addition to the lineup for our Saturday night spectacular in Mesquite," said LDA CEO Art Sellinger, who indicated Ogron will hit rapid-fire drives for two minutes to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network, LDA’s official charity.
Some of the Las Vegas-based Ogron’s achievements, which have placed in the Guiness World Records and landed him a guest spot on "Late Night with David Letterman" include:
Most golf balls hit in one minute;
Most golf balls hit in one hour;
Most golf balls hit in one day (24 hours);

The 2007 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship has a total purse of $550,000 and crowns world champions in five divisions: open, senior, women, super seniors, grand champions. The open division winner pockets $125,000.
