Isleworth-UCF Collegiate Invitational Uses The Laser Link Distance System During Tournament Rounds

MADISON, WI – The Laser Link Distance System is one of the most talked about products in golf, and the latest event to showcase the System was the fourth annual Isleworth-UCF Collegiate Invitational, hosted by the University of Central Florida. The tournament was held October 21-23, and featured the top collegiate golf programs from around the country competing at the world-renowned Isleworth Country Club outside of Orlando, FL. In an effort to speed up play, each player at the event was given the opportunity to utilize the QuickShot laser rangefinder during the competition. Though handheld rangefinders have been around for quite some time, they are just now becoming more widely used in major events at all levels, and the Laser Link Distance System is quickly becoming the system of choice because of its accuracy, speed, and simplicity.

"The Laser Link System was fantastic," said Chris Haack, head coach of the tournament-champion University of Georgia golf team. "It was the first time our team had ever used Laser Link and it was simple, quick and accurate. I am going to recommend that we get the Laser Link Distance System at our University course."

In the end, Haack’s Georgia Bulldogs swept the competition, winning the team title by 21 strokes, led by freshman Harris English who captured the individual title with an 11-under par total. Clemson, USC, Oklahoma State, and Wake Forest rounded out the top five.

Inclusion in this event continues the company’s history as the distance measurement choice of important amateur and professional golf tournaments. This year, for the fourth year in a row, Laser Link Golf provided the official rangefinder for the Tavistock Cup. Other recent events using the Laser Link Distance System include the Trans-Miss Amateur, People vs. the Pros, the Trump Million Dollar Challenge, the Florida Open, the UCF Challenge (women’s), and the Founders Cup Challenge, to name a few.
