OB Sports To Manage New David McLay Kidd design in Bend, Oregon
SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA – OB Sports Golf Management has been selected to manage The Club at Tetherow in Bend, Oregon. Slated to open in June 2008, the David McLay Kidd-designed Tetherow golf course is centerpiece to a 700-acre golf resort community currently under development on Bend’s picturesque Westside. OB Sports will manage all aspects of club operations for The Club at Tetherow including golf shop operations, food and beverage, guest services, membership sales and turf care.
The golf course features a brilliant layout with Kidd’s signature design traits, from growing up on the links land of Scotland, that encourage traditional elements links-style play such as playing the game along the ground as well as the air. The course’s imaginative routing fits cohesively with the natural undulation and terrain. It will test golfers with an eclectic mix of golf holes framed by ragged bunkers, knobs and knolls. It is surrounded by stunning panoramic views of the Cascade peaks and high desert terrain.
The bold innovative design incorporates elements of the seaside links courses Kidd grew up with in his native Scotland – fescue grasses, deep non-uniform bunkering, natural appearing ripples throughout the fairways, run-up areas unto the greens and the nature-inspired random shapes covered with vegetation defining the fairways. With Kidd’s expertise, all these features are then set seamlessly amidst a mountain setting where ponderosa pines, junipers and spectacular views of the often snow-capped Cascades enhance the golfers’ experience.

Designed by Ankrom Moisan and managed by Dolce International, Hotel Tetherow will be a 4 star destination resort that will also be home to the Tetherow Spa and Wellness Center.
