CONCORD, N.C. – Rocky River Golf Club, part of the new Embassy Suites Golf Resort & Spa, has promoted assistant golf professional Dan Davidson to tournament director.
In his new role, Davidson is in charge of all tournaments, corporate outings and fundraisers at the resort. He will handle everything from soliciting events to tournament administration, as well as coordinating food & beverage and lodging requirements.
"Now with the resort and hotel creating additional tournament activity, we need a detail-oriented person like Dan to take over this role," said resort general manager Terry Crawford. "From start to finish, Dan will manage all details of tournaments and corporate outings."
Davidson began working at Rocky River part-time during summer breaks from college. He joined the staff full-time in 2002 after graduating from St. Bonaventure with a degree in communications. He is currently in the PGA apprentice program to become a certified Class A PGA Professional.
"I really want to make sure that golf tournament operations are handled well," said Davidson. "We can accommodate groups from 20 to 140, and the new hotel and conference center increase our resources. We have access to all resort amenities, including the spa."
