CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Jessica Watts has joined the staff at Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation as director of marketing, memberships and events.
Watts oversees all aspects of marketing the club to members and the public. She also handles membership sales, corporate outings and charity tournaments, as well as special events, such as weddings.
"This is an exciting opportunity because it brings together different aspects of my experience," Watts said. "I went to school for marketing and have worked in both the golf and catering industries, so it’s a good fit."
Olde Sycamore recently reached its first goal in a membership campaign that started earlier this year when Signet Golf Associates of Pinehurst began managing the club. Watts plans to build on that momentum, while focusing on the customer service experience for members and outside guests.
"We’re also trying to reach out to residents of Olde Sycamore and develop a stronger relationship with members of the community," said Watts. "Signet has definitely been a positive influence and Ted Staats is back as general manager, so I feel like everybody is on the same page and we have a strong management team."
Watts, a native of Madison, Wis., holds a degree in marketing and worked for six years at Tumbledown Trails Golf Club in Verona, Wis. She and husband, Matthew, moved to Charlotte this past summer.
Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation is a semi-private golf club and community located less than two miles off I-485 in southeast Charlotte. For more information, call (704) 573-1000, or visit www.oldesycamoregolf.com.
