GILBERT, AZ. (November 23, 2007) – Player’s Pass, a national company that markets a discount golf membership program featuring half-price and reduced fee golf at golf courses nationwide, has announced its partnership with the Executive Women’s Golf Association.
Player’s Pass will be working closely with the EWGA in support of its overall mission to grow women’s golf by providing each EWGA member with a one year complimentary Player’s Pass membership. For its part, the EWGA will promote Player’s Pass member benefits to web site visitors and as a gift purchase through its membership. Until recently, Player’s Pass was sold primarily by high school student athletes as a fundraising vehicle. Now, with the establishment of the direct marketing program, the general public can receive those same discounts by purchasing a Player’s Pass membership through the website at www.playerspass.com, at golf retail outlets and golf courses in numerous cities.
"There is a tendency for discount golf programs like Player’s Pass to have a male dominated membership", says Andy Mears, president of Player’s Pass. "Our goal is to provide the same great deals the men are getting to avid women golfers within the EWGA," Mears further stated. When speaking with Trish Davis, COO of the EWGA, she stressed that the members of their organization certainly enjoy saving money on rounds of golf as much as any other golfers.
Davis states, "The partnership between the EWGA and Player’s Pass is a natural, since the most sought after benefit by our avid golfers is discounted playing opportunities. Player’s pass is bringing to the EWGA members just what they are seeking – reduced prices at great golf courses. I think the clear benefit to our members is discount golf at great golf courses throughout the country. This new partnership will only increase the EWGA’s benefit offerings to our members and we are excited to partner with Player’s Pass in this effort. We share so many synergies".
Mears, who is also a member of the Growth of the Game Committee in the Michigan Section PGA as well as president of Player’s Pass, realizes the value of developing partnerships like this in order to promote the game of golf.
Mears believes that by entering into partnerships with organizations like the EWGA, this will continue to further bring the great game of golf to the grass roots level.
Player’s Pass was introduced and represented at the recently held Annual EWGA Conference at Amelia Island, Fla. The conference provided Mears an up close and personal look at the EWGA – an organization dedicated to providing opportunities for women to learn, play, and enjoy the game of golf and to enhance their life and business experiences. "It was an opportunity to meet and greet many of the most active members in this fine organization and to welcome them into this great partnership," said Mears.
Player’s Pass is a division of Varsity Gold, a Gilbert, Arizona based company founded in 1988 that every year helps more than 15,000 high school athletics teams, elementary and middle schools raise more than $40 million to fund programs. Player’s Pass, which promotes expanded participation at golf facilities nationwide through a discount program, is sold through Varsity Gold’s fundraising organization, as well as via direct marketing.
