Dancin’ Dogg Golf Brings Holiday Cheer to The First Tee of Detroit

(Detroit, Michigan)—It’s still officially a few weeks away, but Christmas is coming early this year to the young golfers of The First Tee of Detroit.

The organization is teaming up with Traverse City-based Dancin’ Dogg Golf to bring indoor cheer to its members in the form of the company’s Shot Making Simulatorâ?¢. Dancin’ Dogg President Russell Edens has donated the highly-regarded simulator along with a computer to The First Tee in hopes of keeping young Detroit area golfers interested in the game during the winter months.

"It’s a great feeling knowing the kids of Detroit who have participated with The First Tee will have a chance to have this kind of golf experience during the cold weather months," said Edens. "The Shot Making Simulator is a realistic and fun golf simulation and is also a valuable learning resource for young and new golfers."

The Detroit area headquarters for The First Tee is located at the historic Rackham

Golf Course in Huntington Woods. First Tee Executive Director Lisa Woodcox says the donation of the computer and simulator by Dancin’ Dogg will be a great way to stoke interest among young golfers whose development is sometimes hampered by a winter lay-off. "The kids who are so full of enthusiasm during the season can get frustrated when they’re unable to swing a club or practice over the winter. We’re grateful to Dancin’ Dogg Golf and Russell Edens for this donation and for what it will mean to our aspiring young golfers here in southeast Michigan."

Let history show that First Tee of Detroit participants Marcus Reid, 17, and Khahil Threats, 11, became the pioneer users of Dancin’ Dogg Golf at Rackham GC. After playing only a few holes as Tiger Woods at famed Pebble Beach, Threats was hooked on the game. "It was awesome and a lot of fun to play," said Threats who attends Farwell Middle School in Detroit and was first introduced to golf four years ago.

While golf simulators ranging in price from $20,000 to $40,000 have been around for a few years, "The Dogg" is the first product to offer affordability with its $399 retail price. In addition to being the first simulator dedicated to improving your golf game, the Shot Making Simulator also provides world-class golf simulation and swing analysis. It’s drawn rave reviews at trade shows and from golf industry publications and is bundled with the EA Sports Tiger Woods PGA Tour ’08 golf game, which provides opportunities for simulated rounds on many of the world’s great and best-known courses.
