#1 Driver Shaft & Wood Shaft Brand Including Hybrids For LPGA Full-Field Events

(Vista, CA – December 5, 2007) Fujikura Composites America enjoyed another exceptional year on the PGA and LPGA Tours, retaining the #1 Driver and all Woods Shaft Brand position on the PGA Tour for the seventh straight year as well as being the #1 Driver Shaft and #1 Wood Shaft Brand which includes hybrids for every week of the LPGA full-field events in 2007.

Fujikura’s premier tour position was highlighted by being the #1 Driver Shaft Brand at all four men’s majors in 2007 — The Masters, the U.S. Open Championship, the Open Championship and the PGA Championship. On the LPGA Tour, Fujikura was the #1 Driver and Wood Shaft brand at its three U.S. majors – Kraft Nabisco Championship, LPGA Championship and the U.S. Women’s Open.

"We’re thrilled and proud to have retained and earned this leadership position on these two premier tours," says Peter R. Sanchez, President/COO of Fujikura. "These achievements, especially for seven years running on the men’s tour, clearly demonstrate that our shafts consistently perform at the highest level with the most demanding and competitive fields on the world’s most challenging courses." Â

"Our Rombax material technology leads our success on a weekly basis supported by the other time-tested and acclaimed Fujikura performance products," says Pat McCoy, Fujikura’s Tour manager. "We have enjoyed tremendous success working with leading club companies to fit and earn the trust of their PGA and LPGA Tour staff professionals, the most discerning golfers in the world."

Fujikura also showed dramatic, consistent growth over the last three years across all handicaps and ages in shafts used in new drivers and fairway woods/hybrids, according to the most recent Darrell Survey National Consumer Report. The report shows that Fujikura grew 189% in New Driver Usages and 200% in New Fairway/Hybrids, exceeding leading competition from 2005 to 2007.

Fujikura is the primary supplier to many national brand OEM’s offering both proprietary and brand product shaft designs. Fujikura products also can be custom fitted through its network of over 900 Charter Dealers. To learn more about Fujikura, visit www.fujikuragolf.com.
