Ridings Earns His Way Back to 2008 PGA Tour By Virtue of a T-6 Finish
Eugene, OR, December 13, 2007 – Scratch Golf (www.scratchgolf.com) has confirmed that Tag Ridings had three Scratch wedges in his bag as he fought through six grueling rounds of the PGA Tour’s final stage of Q-School, which ended December 3rd at Orange County National Golf Club in Orlando, Florida. Ridings began using Scratch wedges in mid-summer as he played a mixture of PGA and Nationwide Tour events down the final stretch of the 2007 Professional Golf Season. Tag had his best finish on the PGA Tour in 2007 at the Children’s Miracle Disney Classic, which ended on November 4th. Scratch wedges were along for the ride at that event and earned their highest ever PGA Tour finish thanks to Mr. Ridings’ third place tie. Tag Ridings uses Scratch Golf Tour Department (aka "Custom Studio") grinds with lofts of 48, 52 (which splits time with a hybrid, depending on the course layout), 56 and 60 degrees and feature Scratch’s "antique" finish.
"We at Scratch Golf are proud that Tag Ridings brought us along for his very productive end of season stretch run," Scratch Golf President and CEO Ari Techner stated. "Tag has been exempt on the PGA Tour for several years now and he is a guy that truly knows how to grind it out and do what it takes to get the job done. Short game and wedge play is the key when you need to grind it out and we are pleased that Tag believes in us enough to put us in his bag week in and week out. Our heartfelt congratulations go out to Tag for his successful Q-School effort in earning his way back to the PGA Tour for 2008. We look forward to supporting his efforts on Tour next year and we believe that with the way he’s finished out the season, Tag has a great shot at earning a win or two on the PGA Tour in 2008."
"Scratch Golf wedges are fantastic," Ridings commented. "I really like the feel that their forgings provide, especially when combined with the antique finish. Scratch wedges also have grooves that are much more consistent than anything I’ve used to date. They are not tricked up to spin excessively and so they provide me with an ability to control my wedge shots that is better than anything else on the market. I plan to keep on playing my Scratch wedges in 2008. With my top ten finish at Q-School, I’m excited to be able to do that for most of the West Coast swing that kicks off the season starting in January."
