Accu-Length’s Revolutionary KIDFIT Golf Club Program Is The Right Fit For Youngsters and Retailers Alike
LENEXA, KANSAS (Dec. 13, 2007) – OnTrack Sports, LLC, makers of Accu-Length Expandable Junior Golf Clubs, announced today a revolutionary new customer-service program that provides retailers a turn key system to service budding golfers and their parents with an easy and economical way to enjoy the sport for years to come.
Accu-Length’s new KIDFIT program is a complimentary custom-fitting program designed to properly fit – and later refit – Accu-Length’s one-of-a-kind Expandable Junior Golf Clubs so that young players will derive the most benefits and enjoyment from the products, year after year. By doing that, the KIDFIT program takes away the anxiety of purchasing clubs for a golfing ‘tryer’. The better the fit, the more interest youngsters will have in the game and the more dedicated they – and their parents – will be in becoming regular customers to the retailer who provides that proper fit. Parents simply bring their children and their clubs into a participating retailer for an annual customized golf club adjustment, at no charge.
"We’re recommending to consumers that the fitting be put back into the hands of the guys who do it best—clubfitters," says Rick Rutter, President, COO and Founder of OnTrack Sports, LLC, makers of Accu-Length, the only Expandable Junior Golf Clubs. "And the benefits to the retailer are obvious—customer traffic and loyalty."
Golf instructors agree that the better the clubs fit, the more enjoyment kids will derive from the game, and the more dedicated they will be to playing. Retailers benefit from the program because it builds a loyal group of repeat customers who appreciate the individualized, money-saving service. Best of all, KIDFIT is provided free of charge to not only parents but retailers as well.
"We believe that when our kids interact with golf professionals on a regular basis, the result will be positive. Properly sized equipment keeps kids in the game longer," says Rutter. "When these youth players become adults, where will they go to purchase their golf equipment? To the place where they received the most satisfaction and who they trust the most. As we all know in retail, the more foot traffic you have, the higher profits you’ll enjoy."
"Tweens between the ages of 8-12 represent $150 billion in retail sales per year. They’re the largest demographic spender," adds Rutter. "That’s a lot of potential business that everyone should be catering to in the best and most advanced ways possible."
Accu-Length will provide everything necessary to participating retailers to make KIDFIT a success. All materials including spacers to lengthen the clubs, pins, tools and height charts, as well as stickers for the box sets, POP signage and danglers are initially provided for free. Sales and club adjustment training will be provided by a qualified Accu-Length representative to all sales personnel through Accu-Length’s electronic training media. The online training takes less than 10 minutes to conduct with up to 20 sales associates at one time. Retail participation in KIDFIT is voluntary. Clients can opt in or opt out at any time.
"Regardless of whether a child is an ‘avid’ or simply a ‘tryer’, we want him coming back to see the retailer where he started getting fit. KIDFIT gets that done!" says Rutter. "Accu-Length can be sized for each kid regardless of geographic location. Youngsters deserve to play golf when they want to, not when their equipment – particularly if it’s fitted poorly – lets them play. KIDFIT eliminates the pressure of playing with a set of clubs that expires in under a year, which is no fun for anyone. With KIDFIT, the youngsters and their parents relax, and so does the retailer who fits them."
Everyone is also able to relax because Accu-Length backs up its clubs with an unconditional 5-year warranty, which is unprecedented in the golf industry. Accu-Length’s stainless steel heads and graphite shafts have been tested against its competitors and outperformed them every time.

Accu-Length’s expandable junior club technology creates consistency in their swings for juniors that have long been so important to adult golfers. This helps junior golfers develop a repeatable swing motion and muscle memory which produces more consistent swings, resulting in straighter shots, longer hits, lower scores and most importantly, a more enjoyable golf experience for kids.
Accu-Length’s Expandable Junior Golf Clubs were ranked second – out of 16 companies – on Golf Digest’s Hot List of Junior Golf Sets, in the magazine’s August 2006 edition and ranked first in that same publication’s South Africa edition. Accu-Length clubs were also named Best New Equipment Product at the 2005 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando.
