WARREN, Mich. – With the tremendous success of the Oversize Optix mallet putter and the resounding results it received at the recent GolfTest USA putter test, ranked highest in alignment and accuracy out of 30 putters, Tiger Shark is launching two new Optix models designed specifically for the PGA Tour.
The two new members of the Optix family are the Optix Tour and the Optix Blade. They both have all of the outstanding alignment features of the Oversize Optix mallet, they’re just different styles. The Optix Tour is similar to the original Oversize Optix mallet but 20 percent smaller, and the Optix Blade has more of a traditional heel and toe blade look.Â
"Both the Optix Tour and Blade have gotten incredible response from the PGA Tour players we’ve introduced them to," said Dean Dingman, President Tiger Shark Golf. "All of the Optix putters are completely precision milled aluminum putters with high moment of inertia (MOI) and possess the most advanced alignment system in the golf industry."
Already creating a stir with the PGA players, Tiger Shark will have veteran representative Ralph Todd on the 2008 PGA Tour working at the events fitting players with the new Optix putters.
All of the Optix models take putter alignment to the highest level with their innovative 3-line highlighted alignment system, which is further enhanced by the Line-M-Upâ?¢ Ball marker tool kit. The LINE-M-UP ball marking tool replicates the three lines on the putter so that when the ball is set on the green and properly aligned, the golfer can see these three lines continuing through the ball."
"The two new models have the same unprecedented visual alignment system of the original Optix," said Dingman. "The heads are constructed of milled aluminum for even density and superior balance as well as a great soft feel."
Topping off the new Optix models is the 2007 UltraTac Tiger Shark putter grip, a retooled version of the original oversize grip that continues to be one of the hottest selling grips on the market today. The UltraTac is made with Winn’s V17 Ultimate Performance Material which helps absorb sweat. It’s their most durable material to date and firmer than traditional Winn grips. The grip is also designed with Winn’s Advanced Vertical Seam process which gives you the premium properties of a wrapped grip, but with a virtually seamless appearance. It’s lighter than conventional rubber grips and reduces the weight by more than 20 percent. It’s also 40 percent more slip resistant than conventional rubber grips and absorbs 65 percent more shock, which helps reduce hand fatigue and gives you that great feel that players look for in a premium putter.
