Sportslifestyle Brand Presents 2008 PUMA Golf Collection on Trade Show Floor of the World?s Largest Golf Showcase
Westford, Massachusetts, December 20, 2007 – PUMA® will return to the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) Merchandise Show in January 2008 with big news, a big booth and a big presence on the trade show floor. The sportslifestyle brand known for bringing the golf world a burst of style, color and fun will debut their game changing Smart Quill® technology at the show, and for the first time, will be meeting with accounts on the trade show floor in booth #8479. Since entering the golf category in 2006, PUMA has seen significant growth in their golf business and has received worldwide attention with top-notch athletes such as Geoff Ogilvy and Johan Edfors.

PUMA’s Smart Quill® technology brings about a series of new innovative and design-driven golf shoes. The technology uses green-friendly “quills” that are molded and tactically positioned for traction. This position of the quills guarantees maximum grip to serve different functions throughout the swing, making the shoe the first style customized for the right and left foot individually. The hero shoe carrying this technology will be available for men this Spring is the Swing GTX. The Swing GTX featuring Smart Quill technology will be available beginning in mid-February and will retail for $250. Lightweight and comfortable, the Swing GTX is expected to be one of the best tractioned shoes in the industry.
PUMA’s booth was specifically designed to feature the entire PUMA Golf men’s and women’s collections for spring and fall 2008, including footwear, apparel and accessories. The spring 2008 collection takes inspiration from the 1950s-era style and is fused with PUMA’s design aesthetic of newness, color, style and individuality. Rather than seen as vintage, the Spring 08 line will be a modern twist on an iconic era in both golf and fashion and includes styles such as a tie, cardigan and Sport Blazer.
In addition to showcasing the PUMA Golf Collections and Smart Quill technology in the PUMA booth, the sportlifestyle brand will also create a modern pro-shop area, which will debut a PUMA Golf Retail System and point-of-purchase displays. The PUMA Booth will be fully staffed by PUMA’s expanded sales force therefore, customers, industry leaders and press can expect a comprehensive look and feel of PUMA Golf the moment they step foot in the booth. In true PUMA fashion, fashion shows will take place in the booth throughout the show.
The sportlifestyle brand entered the golf category in 2006 and quickly shook up the industry by introducing a more stylish, colorful, inclusive and fun world of golf.
