Greensboro, Ga. (December 19, 2007) – Charlie King, the Director of Instruction at the Reynolds Golf Academy at Reynolds Plantation, has one of the feature articles in the January 2008 issue of GOLF Magazine. King, one of GOLF Magazine’s Top 100 Teachers in America, provides insight to golfers on how they can ring in the new year by adding 20 yards to their drives.
“There are some specific thoughts I have about the golf swing and keys to the driver that are not overly complicated, but can help every golfer,” King said of the story theme. “What is exciting is that we have some data to support the principle that striking the golf ball at an ascending angle creates optimum launch angle and spin rate for driving distance.”
King’s teaching skills earned him an invitation to the Caribbean island of St. Kitts with several other GOLF Magazine Top 100 instructors, to participate in magazine instructional layouts that are to be featured by GOLF throughout 2008, both in print and on the magazine’s web site, www.golf.com .
A highly acclaimed teaching professional and innovative author, King joined the team at Reynolds Plantation, the award-winning community on Lake Oconee, in March 2006. Founder and CEO of UnCommon Golf, King has authored two books – “You’re NOT Lifting Your Head,” a golf novel, and “Red Zone Challenge,” an engaging instructional guide that focuses on golf shots from 100 yards and less. A 16-year member of the PGA of America, King has been a featured guest instructor on The Golf Channel’s “Academy Live” and has appeared on numerous radio and television shows.
Originally from Tennessee, King attended Tennessee Tech University, where he earned a marketing degree. He and wife, Julie, have two children, Kathryn and Brian. They reside in Watkinsville, Ga.
