Atlanta, GA (December 17, 2008) — Amanda Palmer, the newest name in luxury and performance golf apparel, will release her inaugural line on January 17, 2008 at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, FL (Booth 8393). This new line will fill a much-needed void in the golf apparel industry by providing luxury, high-performance and high-end fashions.
The Amanda Palmer Collection is about classic designs and functional clothes. The Amanda Palmer line merges fashion and function.
There are 14 pieces in the first line, including golf dresses, which take their influence from traditional tennis dresses, as well as skorts, shorts, tops, and pants. Materials include microfiber, twill, stretch fabrics and cotton-blends. Colors are primarily neutral tones and styles focus on function yet include line-specific detailing.
Ms. Palmer, niece to golf’s legend Arnold Palmer, has both personal and professional experience in the golf industry. She obtained a Bachelors of Science from Pennsylvania State University’s Turfgrass Science program, further enhanced her knowledge in the industry at the Palmer Course Design Company in Ponte Vedre Beach, FL and later developed her fashion-industry experience at Elite Model Management in Atlanta, GA.
“I grew up with golf and always wanted to see something more fashionable than Bermuda shorts and the traditional golf polo,” observed Ms. Palmer.
She added, “I’m excited to bring something new and out-of-the-norm to the golf apparel market. Women want to feel stylish yet comfortable. There is no reason why women have to conform to ‘traditional’ golf apparel expectations. Women can look classic yet stylish; be comfortable but not too sporty.”
The Amanda Palmer Collection will initially be available through premier golf course shops.
