Mitchell® Golf Conducts Education Seminar For SOPGA Members

Mitchell® Golf conducted an educational seminar for Southern Ohio PGA Section members December 7, 2007 at its Equipment Institute in Dayton, Ohio.

A special 4-hour seminar was conducted on “Why PGA Professionals Should Provide Club Performance Upgrades & Repairs At Their Facility”. Seventeen section members attended with each receiving 4 MSR continuing education credits from the PGA. The attendance request for the class exceeded the space available so another seminar has been scheduled for February 8, 2008.

Those in attendance included Keith Fisher, Dayton CC; Doug Cartwright, Moraine CC; Frank Rust, Frank’s Golf Club Repair & Dayton Chapter PGA President; Kent Stevens, CC of The North; Colin Miller, Miami Valley GC; Tony Elieff, NCR CC; Steve Klick, Beavercreek GC; Jana Dalton, Rollandia Golf Center; John Marchi, Cassel Hills GC; Jeff Franco, Clovernook CC; Matt Star, Meadow Links GC; Mike Dieters, Meadow Links GC; Ryan Nightingale, NCR CC; Bill Green, Dick’s Sporting Goods-Hilliard; Pat Delaney, Urbana CC; Jack Pawelkoski, Urbana CC and Jim Neff, Windy Knoll GC.

The attendees learned why club performance upgrades are important services and why PGA professionals should be offering them to their golfers. The seminar included hands on time measuring and bending golf clubs, how to use a launch monitor for fitting & understanding the launch data and how to set up a work shop area to provide re-gripping, re-shafting and loft/lie/face angle adjustments.
