Processing Software Optimized; Angle of Descent Added
AccuSport International, Inc. today announced a new software release, available beginning January 17, 2008, for its Vector Pro Launch System. The new software now contains a new metric – Angle of Descent – and has also been optimized to run on the new Windows Vista platform. Base processing improvements were also put in place for those customers who prefer to continue using Windows XP.
AccuSport is the leading developer and marketer of golf ball launch monitors and its Vector Launch System is recognized throughout the golf industry for its accuracy, portability and affordability. Vector measures and analyzes launch angle, ball speed, backspin, side spin and side angle to instantaneously quantify the performance of both player and equipment. The Vector Pro model offers a fully integrated video swing analysis application for lessons, along with a student database for storing sessions.
"There have been some starts and stops in the market during the customer migration to Windows Vista," said Mark Reasor, AccuSport’s Chief Technology Officer. "We wanted to be sure that our customers who had committed to this new platform could use all of the functions and features within Vector Pro. We also decided to enhance some of the processing algorithms and reporting within the software and added a new benefit – Angle of Descent."
"Three years ago, we helped the industry fully understand the need for higher launch angles with proper spin rates. Our customers have now begun asking us to report Angle of Descent so that they can fit their customers based upon their individual ball flight characteristics and course conditions," said Reasor. "This metric is now available on our fitting screen and within selected reports. We’ll be enhancing our "What If" program to provide further modeling for our customers."
The company also reported that changes have been made to the software to improve the ease of use, installation and set-up, support for dual core computers, and processing speed.
"We’re pleased with the improvements we’ve put in place on the Vector Pro platform," said Reasor. "Our customers should experience performance and consistency improvements, and also now have a new fitting metric available within the base software. We believe this metric will grow in importance with additional understanding and wanted to be out in front on the issue," said Reasor.
