Florida Native, Florida State Graduate to Manage Daily Operations, Membership Activities
(WATERSOUND, Fla.) – Camp Creek Golf Club — the award-winning Tom Fazio design developed by St. Joe and located along Northwest Florida’s stunning Gulf Coast – today announces that Jaxon Hardy has been named head professional.
Hardy, a graduate of Florida State’s Professional Golf Management Program, has been with Camp Creek as an assistant professional since 2002. He received his “Class A” certification in 2003 and was awarded the Acushnet Scholarship for finishing with the highest scores in the Dixie Section.
Working alongside general manager Will Hopkins and superintendent Larry Livingston, Hardy will manage daily operations, coordinate membership activities, oversee inventory management and merchandise planning, and handle player management and scheduling.
“Jaxon’s intimate knowledge of Camp Creek, educational background and relationships with our members and guests made him the ideal fit as head professional,” says Hopkins. “He’ll bring considerable experience and energy to the position and we’re excited about his expanded responsibilities.”
Hardy will work closely with Livingston to coordinate scheduling of maintenance routines and projects and to assure the highest level of overall facility presentation. Camp Creek has long been recognized as one of the most well-conditioned golf courses in northwest Florida, a standard set by Livingston and his staff upon opening in 2001.
“Jaxon has a solid understanding of agronomy and golf course maintenance and I look forward to working with him more closely in his role as head professional,” says Livingston.

About Camp Creek
Since opening in 2001, Camp Creek has been consistently cited as one of Tom Fazio’s most thought-provoking, aesthetically-stunning design credits. Featuring a unique “dunescape” appearance, the course was created as a private club for members who are owners of St. Joe selected communities and resort guests of St. Joe’s WaterColor and WaterSound Beach resorts. From the back green tees, the course plays to a championship caliber yardage of 7,159 and a formidable slope rating of 152. Camp Creek’s five-tee configuration, which also includes gold (senior) and red (women’s) tees, accommodates players of all skill and experience levels. Travel + Leisure Golf recognized Camp Creek as “Florida’s No. 1 Course of the New Millennium.” Other awards and accolades include:
* “Florida’s No. 14 Golf Course” – Golfweek, 2007
* “Top Golf Resort” – The Golf Insider
* “Florida’s Best 18 Holes You Can Play” – TravelGolf.com
* “America’s Top Golf Courses” – ZAGAT, 2007/08
* “Best in State Rankings” — Golf Digest, 2005 (Camp Creek ranked No. 30 out of all Florida Courses, public and private)
* “Best of Northwest Florida” — Florida Golf Journal
* “Best Family Friendly Golf Resort” – Golf For Women Magazine
Camp Creek has also been recognized for its environmental stewardship through designation as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System (ACSS). Superintendent Larry Livingston was similarly distinguished as a certified Audubon Steward. Camp Creek, The Origins Course and Shark’s Tooth are managed by Troon Golf, the leader in upscale golf course management.
